who are experiencing challenging life transitions including:
• Relationship Challenges or Loss
• Anxiety and Depression
• Chronic and Acute Health Issues
• Career Changes
• Recovery from Addictions and Trauma
• End of Life Passages
Personal and Spiritual Growth
I love helping individuals who are committed to their personal and spiritual development remove obstacles to fulfilling their potential. I also offer a variety of personal exploration groups and workshops for women.
My Approach to Therapy
In the context of a safe and compassionate environment I help my clients to identify and develop their unique strengths and talents so that they are able to heal from their wounds and move toward balance and fulfillment.
I integrate a range of therapeutic approaches including EMDR, guided imagery, dreamwork, ceremony, expressive arts, Gestalt therapy, and acupressure. I find that working with these experiential modalities helps my clients to connect with their own internal resources, develop self-acceptance and realize the changes they seek.
My work has also been shaped by the study of yoga, meditation and traditional healing practices that I have pursued locally and during my extensive travels in Mexico, South America, and India. My connection with the plant world and the cycles of nature deeply influence my work as a therapist as well.
I tailor my services to the needs and resources of each client. I provide depth oriented long-term psychotherapy as well as short-term solution oriented counseling and consultations.
For the past 15 years I have been supporting individuals and their loved ones with relationship problems, anxiety, depression, spiritual issues, addictions, trauma, chronic and acute illness and grief and loss issues.
I received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco in 1999. Prior to my graduate studies, I worked for several years as a naturalist after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz.
I have completed advanced trainings in EMDR, Gestalt therapy, Interactive Guided Imagery, and Grief and Loss. I work part time as a Grief Counselor at Memorial Hospice in Santa Rosa and have completed the certificate training in Death Midwifery through Final Passages, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating dignified and compassionate alternatives to current funeral practices.
